Little Putters is a special program for our smallest aspiring golfers. Kids will learn some basic fundamentals of chipping and putting by playing fun games and activities based around the putting greens. A golf course can be a very intimidating atmosphere for a young child and this program is designed to help them become comfortable at the golf course so when they get older they are prepared to take the next steps without intimidation. Little Putters is a great first step to our PGA Sports Academy.
Beginners & Ages 7-9
The Player Level is the second step in our Junior Golf Program. It is targeted toward children ages 7 - 9 with little or no experience. In this level children will develop an understanding of the sport of golf and learn fundamental movements and motor skills in which they can link with the golf swing. By using ball striking games such as baseball and hockey, along side of golf, students will develop excellent hand eye coordination that will help them become more confident in their golf game. Golf safety, rules, and etiquette are a key component of the Player Level as well.
The Sport Level is the third step in our Junior Golf Program. It is targeted toward children ages 9 - 11, junior golfers with beginner level experience, and former First Tee Player and Par participants. In this level, junior golfers will develop fundamental golf movements and learn overall sports skills. They will also learn scoring, the rules of golf, and the process of playing a round of golf. Along with these skills, and many others, Sport Level participants will establish target and alignment fundamentals and begin to develop crucial short game basics.
PGA Jr. League
Ages 13 & Under and 17U Team - Ages 14 - 17
Scholarships available to those in need and military families. Please contact Rob Jarvis, PGA for details.
PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for kids to learn and play golf with their friends in a recreational team setting, complete with numbered jerseys for each participant. Teams play in a two-person scramble format for competition, which reinforces the team concept and allows Captains to substitute players to ensure everyone on the team can participate.
You do not have to be a seasoned golfer to participate in PGA Junior League. Children of all abilities are welcome and should not be discouraged by the "competition" aspect. Each child also gets a newly updated team kit with two golf shirts, a t-shirt, hat, drawstring bag, and a bag tag.
This year there are also scholarship opportunities for some children. Children that qualify for free or reduced lunch, have a relative that is retired or active duty military, or whose family has endured a financial hardship, may be eligible for reduced or waived program costs.
