Bangor Municipal Golf Course is a 27-Hole Championship layout designed by Geoffrey Cornish. The 18-Hole course is a blend of challenging holes and holes that golfers of all abilities can enjoy. Geoffrey Cornish also designed our “New Nine” hole course in 1988. The “New Nine” was recently dedicated and renamed “The Kelly Nine” after it’s founder and former Head PGA Professional Austin Kelly. This course has been touted as one of the most beautiful and challenging 9-hole courses in the state of Maine.

Just minutes away from major attractions such as The Bangor Mall, historic downtown Bangor, and Hollywood Slots, Bangor Municipal Golf Course is a great place to center your summer vacation around. We are also just a short drive from gorgeous Acadia National Park!

BMGC is very proud to have been rated in Golf Digests “Best Public Courses” on numerous occasions. Bangor Municipal G.C. is also the only facility in Maine to ever host a U.S.G.A. Major Championship. In 1978 the Public Links Championship, in which PGA Tour player Fred Couples was a participant, was held at our facility

In the Fall of 2008 we began construction of a new practice area dedicated to the shortgame. This new project, shown above right, will be totally free for all the golfing public to enjoy! This area will simulate almost any shot that a player will encounter on the golf course. With a large green, practice sand bunker, mounding, and 6 fairway pitching areas, this is sure to be the best shortgame facility in the state! This new development is adjacent to the clubhouse and right behind the practice tee. Now Bangor Municipal G.C. is truly your one stop shopping for golf, equipment, instruction, and practice.
